ASSISTANT PROFESSOR LEVEL: $54,464 - $63,778
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR LEVEL: $58,936 - $69,066
PROFESSOR LEVEL: $66,675 - $78,774

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
SCOPE OF WORK: To educate students and develop curricula in the Aviation Technology Department. This position reports to the Department Chairperson of the Aviation Technology Department at Nashua Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Teaches Aviation Technology courses and other related courses as assigned.
- Develops instructional materials that integrate theory with applications, observe program and institutional accreditation standards, clearly outline course goals and requirements, comply with established course content, and respond to diverse academic needs of students.
- Supervises student learning activities and academic progress and maintains accurate records of student progress and accomplishments. Consults with and interprets these to students and maintains accessibility and availability to assist students with their learning needs.
- Observes all academic policies and procedures and institutional rules and regulations.
- Participates in departmental activities and operations by assisting in the review and development of credit and non-credit programs and/or courses, seeking and maintaining contact with business and industry within the Aviation Technology field, assisting in articulation initiatives, maintaining educational equipment and spaces, and requisitioning instructional equipment, supplies or classroom materials.
- Participates in college sponsored recruitment and retention activities by attending admissions events, student orientations, and award ceremonies, and/or advising student activity groups, as assigned.
- Remains current within the field of Aviation Technology through participation in relevant professional associations and education and training activities. Utilizes appropriate instructional and administrative technologies as required for teaching effectiveness and college operations/communication.
- Trains students in accordance with Federal regulations and safety procedures.
- Ensures curriculum and updates to comply with Federal regulations.
- Tests students according to Federal standards.
- Demonstrates ethical and professional behavior.
- Serves on college or system committees, as assigned.
- Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations including, but not limited to health and safety policies, the State of NH Policy on Sexual Harassment, Administrative rules, Civil Rights and Laws, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in aviation technology, education, business administration, engineering, or related field. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in education, engineering, business administration or other related field shall require an Associates degree in aviation technology.
Experience: Four (4) years of teaching experience in aviation technology or four (4) years of business or industry experience directly related to aviation technology.
OR
Education: Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college or technical school with major study aviation technology, education, business administration, engineering or related field.
Experience: Six (6) years of teaching experience in the aviation technology field or six (6) years of business or industry experience directly related to the field of aviation technology.
