Catholic Charities New Hampshire (CCNH) is seeking an Immigration Attorney II to join our dedicated Immigration Legal Services team. As an Immigration Attorney II, you will provide direct legal representation and offer guidance, referrals, and advocacy to clients in alignment with established policies and procedures.

This is a grant-funded position tied to Victims of Crime Act (VOCA).

Responsibilities
  • Review the intakes and make case acceptance and assignment decisions for that team.
  • Handle a wide range of casework, including removal proceedings and related relief, adjustment of status, refugee adjustments, naturalization, asylum, waivers of inadmissibility, consular processing, family and special immigrant visa petitions, and employment authorization.
  • Represent clients before USCIS, the U.S. Department of State, Immigration Court, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Provide consultations and assist clients with applications, petitions, and supporting documentation.
  • Lead more complex cases and offer guidance to less-senior attorneys as needed.
  • Participate in hiring activities for immigration team staff, including Paralegals and Immigration Attorney I roles.
  • Complete all case documentation in accordance with the highest professional and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with legal staff, DOJ‑accredited representatives, paralegals, and other team members.
  • Conduct intake duties and interview low‑income clients from diverse cultural backgrounds with respect and sensitivity.
  • Support the annual appeal as assigned (e.g., speaking at weekend Masses or attending meetings/luncheons to educate staff, volunteers, and the public).
  • Bilingual employees may be asked to interpret or translate documents as needed.
  • Perform grant reporting duties.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD)
  • Active and in‑good‑standing Bar membership in any state
  • Prior supervisory experience helpful and preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 3–5 years of experience practicing immigration law
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality requirements
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel for meetings or events outside the Manchester or Nashua office locations
