The Youth Ministry Leader is responsible for leading, equipping, and discipling students (grades 6- 12) to know, love, and follow Jesus Christ. This role includes providing vision, leadership, and oversight for the high school student ministry while partnering with parents, volunteers, and the church body to help students grow in their faith and engage in the mission of the church.

- Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing relationship with Him.

- A love for students and their families with a heart for discipleship.
- Strong leadership, relational and teaching skills.
- Ability to recruit, equip, and lead volunteers.
- Previous student ministry experience strongly desired. Bachelor’s degree or seminary degreein ministry or related field, preferred.
- A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9).
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the Junior High and High School ministry.
- Develop a clear vision and strategy for student discipleship, outreach, and spiritual growthunder the direction senior leadership.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment where students can belong andgrow in their faith.
- Leading Weekly Gatherings, Bible studies and Discipleship programs.
- Review all curriculum used by Gate City Church’s student ministry and ensure that they are consistent with GCC’s doctrinal commitments.
- Caring for students and families through mentorship and pastoral support.
- Raising Up and training leaders and volunteers to multiply ministry.
- Using Technology and media to communicate, connect and disciple.
- Assist in our cafe operations as needed.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to the life, mission and ministry of Gate City Church.
- Attend and actively participate in weekly staff meetings and other all staff and church wide events (Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals etc.).
- Maintain availability and be reachable by staff, volunteers, students and families.
- Live a life of integrity that reflects Christ inside and outside the church.
- Demonstrate a servant-leader attitude with a teachable spirit.
- Participate as a leader in “All-hands” Gate City Church events, as directed.
