Registered Nurse RN - Special Care Nursery - Nights

Who We Are: The Special Care Nursery is a 9‑bench Level II nursery for babies 32+ weeks, and 1,500 grams. Newborns being treated for respiratory distress, temperature instability, and newborns learning how to feed and grow. We provide Retinopathy of Prematurity screening in collaboration with Boston Children’s Hospital. We collaborate and consult with the Mass General NICU.

As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the Special Care Nursery (SCN) Registered Nurse cares for infants ranging in age from newborn to six months who are experiencing a wide range of clinical symptoms which require interventions beyond the scope of normal newborn care, including CPAP and mechanical ventilation.

• Delivers nursing care by utilizing a patient‑centered approach incorporating the Professional Practice Model.
• Provides patient‑centered care through teamwork and collaboration to achieve quality patient outcomes.
• Integrates best practices and current evidence‑based practices for delivery of optimal health care.
• Utilizes data to improve quality and safety.
• Incorporates informatics and technology to communicate, manage information, mitigate errors, and support decision‑making.

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with AND
• Current NH licensure as a Registered Nurse
• At least 2 years of experience as a nurse
  • NICU/SCN or Maternal Child health preferred.
