Required Qualifications:
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Hampshire.
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
Knowledge of pediatric healthcare practices, including medication administration, first aid, and emergency response.
Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and staff members.
Proficient computer skills, including electronic health record management and basic office software.
CPR and First Aid certification (current).
Willingness to collaborate as part of a team and contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment.
Job Description
Provide direct healthcare services to students, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for acute and chronic medical conditions.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to safety guidelines.
Monitor and manage student health records, including immunization records, health histories, and individual healthcare plans (IHPs) as needed.
Collaborate with school personnel, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with specific medical needs.
Conduct health screenings, such as vision and hearing tests, and coordinate referrals for further evaluation or treatment when necessary.
Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate first aid, CPR, and other necessary interventions as required.
Educate students, staff, and parents/guardians on health-related topics, including disease prevention, nutrition, and general wellness.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all healthcare services provided, including incident reports, medication administration records, and health-related communications.
Collaborate with the school's multidisciplinary team to support students with disabilities and provide accommodations as outlined in their individualized education plans (IEPs).
Stay informed about current health regulations, best practices, and emerging trends in school nursing, continually seeking professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
