Job Summary
The Lead Electrician position is responsible to perform work as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor and/or Director to maintain the hospital’s property and equipment in safe, efficient, operating condition, and assist others, as needed. The Lead Electrician will also pull electrical permits, guide, and direct Journeyman Electrician(s), and be an integral part of Project Planning, Regulatory Agency Audits, and overall review of work completed relative to Electrical projects and procedures.
This includes basic installation, cleaning, repairing, removal, and disposal of electrical equipment, and property. Performs other duties as assigned on an “as needed” basis, and Snow shoveling may be necessary at entrances, sidewalks, and Emergency Department. Handles major components of DNV documentation.

- Active participant in Construction/Renovation projects, meetings, and completion within budgetary and timeframe expectations

- Other duties as consistent with this role.
Job Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of safe usage of hand and power tools
- Ability to estimate costs of jobs in terms of labor and materials
- Understanding of low and high voltage and its uses
- Able to read prints, participate in Construction/Renovation Meetings, and work with Architects, Contractors, and provide an example of Excellent Customer Service
- Ability to test and accurately record results of regularly scheduled Generator tests, and review tests completed by Journeymen Electrician’s reports
- Computer skills required
- Previous experience in a Health Care setting
- Encourage and assist Journeymen Electricians to obtain Master Electrician status
- Master Electrician required
- Driver’s License required
- Five years of “Hands on” work in Health Care setting, or equivalent preferred
- Trade and/or Technical School certification preferred
Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.

Comp Range:$28.88 - $43.32. Rate of pay displayed reflects the beginning of the pay scale. At the time of an offer, determination of your offer will reflect your skills and experience as it relates to the position.
