COE Pharmacist PRN – North Carolina
Join HCA Healthcare as a Centralized Order Entry (COE) Pharmacist. This PRN/As needed position requires a current North Carolina Pharmacist License and strong preference for Cerner and hospital experience.
Job SummaryAs the COE Pharmacist, you will monitor, evaluate, and make recommendations to ensure the appropriate and effective use of pharmaceuticals for patient care. You will use the medication process to assess, plan, intervene, implement, and evaluate patient care in compliance with client hospital policies, protocols, and procedures.
Responsibilities- Provide patient care activities to ensure safe and effective drug therapy.
- Accurately enter orders in the computer in a timely manner.
- Follow facility procedures for non‑formulary, target, restricted, and investigational drugs.
- Screen for drug interactions, allergies, order duplications, appropriate diagnosis, and renal and liver function prior to order entry.
- Address facility queues promptly.
- Investigate and report adverse drug events and medication incidents.
- Review and interpret all physician orders received using the patient profile.
- Monitor incompatibilities, concentration, and rate on intravenous drugs.
- Document clinical interventions and follow up when indicated.
- Assess orders for age‑specific appropriateness from neonatal to geriatric.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college of pharmacy (Pharm D preferred).
- One year of hospital experience preferred.
- Meditech experience preferred.
- Current State Board of Pharmacy license required.
- North Carolina license required.
