Summary

Hands‑on IT professional supporting operational software systems and overall user environment. Reports to the Chief Financial Officer and works closely with our third‑party MSP to support the company’s entire network infrastructure.

Functional Duties
  • Provides first‑level end‑user support, including troubleshooting basic hardware, network/internet connectivity, email, and software applications, and completes user requests for password and user account administration.
  • Manages and provides user support for operational software programs and system integrations.
  • Partners with our managed services provider to support the company’s entire network infrastructure.
  • Ensures all backup and disaster recovery systems are operational.
  • Supports printer networks (administrative and operational), DUO 2‑factor authentication, VPN, Power Automate workflows, and additional tools.
  • Manages and supports company communication infrastructure such as phone systems, ISP providers, and Office 365 products.
  • Performs user maintenance, including setting up new users and preparing their hardware and software needs.
  • Trains users on Office 365 applications, phishing risks, and network tools.
  • Maintains the internal help desk ticketing system, improving user experiences and identifying improvement areas.
  • Creates, utilizes, and maintains documentation for tasks and procedures.
  • Oversees the company’s EDI functionality.
  • Supports a variety of software programs including Aeros ERP, Aeros Live, Easy Automation, Repete, Computer way Food Systems, Sage, Forms on Fire, GEOTAB, Feed Lok, and others.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with contractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Supports BFF’s Environment Management Systems (EMS) to monitor and reduce operationally related negative effects on the environment.
Required Education & Skills
  • Associate’s degree in computer science or related information systems field.
  • Affinity for computers and broad knowledge of various computer systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of quickly addressing new problems with research tools and methodical processes.
  • Exceptional computer and system administration skills on Microsoft clients and servers.
  • Firm understanding of basic networking components and peripherals configuration.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with a calm demeanor and a “win/win” attitude.
  • Must be able to work a full‑time on‑site schedule, with possible after‑hours support.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with programming (.NET environment / , C# preferred).
  • Excel VBA skills and knowledge of statistical packages (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.) preferred.
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN/VLAN networking.
  • Previous end‑user support experience across a variety of software solutions; EDI experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience with procedure writing or other technical writing.
  • Detailed knowledge of workstation, server, and network diagnostics, repair, and installation.
  • Understanding of DNS fundamentals.
  • Experience with phone installation/programming/maintenance.
  • Support for VMWare virtualization environment, including VCenter and Vsphere.
  • Support for Windows Server 2019/2022 file and application servers in a hybrid on‑premises/cloud Active Directory environment.
  • Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2014/2022; T‑SQL querying a plus.
  • Experience planning and maintaining server backup and disaster recovery procedures in a Veeam environment.
Physical Requirement / Work Environment
  • Adaptable to office work environments with temperature variations and high noise levels.
  • Data entry while seated for over one hour.
  • Ability to work in agricultural environments indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas with varying temperatures, odors, and atmospheres.
  • Valid driver’s license required for travel among the three main company locations.
  • Full flexibility with hours and schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
