Job SummaryAs a Tax Senior in the Real Estate Group, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive tax services to individual and business clients within the real estate sector. You will apply your specialized tax knowledge to prepare and review intermediate level returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. As a tax senior, you will oversee and delegate assignments, guiding associates, and ensuring timely completion of engagements.
Your proactive approach in engagements and fostering a collaborative work environment will contribute to the overall success and growth of the firm. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor and role model, providing constructive feedback and support to develop the skills of your colleagues.
- Apply tax knowledge to intermediate level flow‑through returns and all levels of individual returns
- Review basic tax return engagements
- Work effectively in analyzing business transactions
- Perform complete & efficient reviews of individual and business tax returns while providing guidance to other staff
- Gather data from customer, A&A department, and third‑party sources
- Perform tax research with view for alternatives to satisfy customer’s objectives
- Resolve all open items/issues encountered on assigned engagements
- Actively monitor engagement economics by managing budgets and seeking efficiencies
- Direct and control concurrent assignments to successful completion
- Bottom‑line management of assigned engagements and individual productivity opportunities, becoming a subject‑matter expert in one or more technical aspects
- Teach, develop and oversee staff through engagements; delegate assignments and tasks
- Provide honest, objective and constructive feedback in timely manner to staff
- Collaborate to identify and sell opportunities among existing customers
- Serve as a mentor and role model through active participation in firm committees, departmental matters, and events
- Other duties within scope of practice
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of recent public accounting experience
- CPA certification or significant progress towards certification
- Real Estate experience preferred, but not necessary
- Ability to prepare and/or review complete set of financial statements
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Effective analytical and problem‑solving ability
- Strong time and work management skills
