Base pay range$70,000.00/yr - $/yr
Our clientA well‑established construction firm known for its collaborative culture and high‑quality project delivery. We are hiring a Project Accountant to support project financial management, ensure accurate cost tracking, and strengthen reporting processes across multiple active jobs. This position plays a key role in partnering with project management and operations to maintain financial accuracy and support company growth.
Primary Responsibilities- Manage and analyze job cost reports, prepare cost‑to‑complete forecasts, and ensure project budgets align with company financial goals.
- Prepare and review AIA billings, monitor retainage, and ensure timely and accurate invoicing in compliance with contract terms.
- Review, track, and reconcile change orders, ensuring all budget impacts are captured and reflected in project financials.
- Lead month‑end project reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and assist with WIP schedules and variance analysis.
- Partner with Project Managers and Operations to monitor job progress, resolve discrepancies, and improve cost‑control accuracy.
- Maintain organized documentation to support audits, lien waivers, and contract compliance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and workflow automation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
- 4–6 years of construction accounting experience, including project‑based cost tracking
- Experience with AIA Billing

, and Lien Releases required - Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across departments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required
- Preferred experience with Viewpoint Vista
, Sage 300 CRE
, or similar ERP systems - Familiarity with Procore
, Textura
, or GC Pay preferred - High integrity, accountability, and professionalism
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
