Why this role existsRubicon is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to play an integral role driving the company’s growth. This role will be responsible for supporting key accounting operational functions and ensuring the company’s financial reporting. This high performing individual will have the opportunity to work on a multitude of concepts from the ground up to support the growing needs of the business.
Role Description & Necessary ExperienceThe ideal candidate has 3-5+ years of accounting experience in a combination of private and public experience. This individual will be energized by engaging leaders and changemakers across the healthcare ecosystem and will be responsible for managing a variety of key stakeholders in a results-oriented, rigorous, fast-paced environment.
- Prepare full cycle month end including general ledger reconciliations, expense accruals, journal entries, monthly review of fixed assets and depreciation as well as monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable and intercompany accounts.
- Maintain books and records for management companies, and related subsidiaries
- Oversee and manage the month-end close process and distribution of monthly report packages
- Monthly allocation of overhead expenses to respective concepts and portfolio companies
- Process and track intercompany reimbursements
- Assist with organizational cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for Rubicon Founders and assist with pre seed or seed portfolio companies as needed.
- Prepare other tax compliance (e.g., business tax, franchise tax, annual registration fees)
- Support the year-end audit and tax compliance process
- Assist with specific projects and initiatives unique to a fast-growing investment firm, such as system implementations and updates and business process improvements.
- Provide Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA certification preferred.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Public accounting and private equity experience preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office required (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience working with Quick Books, Ramp, and Rippling preferred
