Site Safety Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, hard-working, and goal-focused individual to work on a great team in a growing organization. As a Site Safety Engineer, you will coordinate project safety and accident prevention programs for industrial construction job sites.

Core Responsibilities (essential Functions)
  • Enforce the use of safety equipment/clothing as required by OSHA and company safety regulations.
  • Reinforce that team members on the project site are in compliance with the safety requirements of the company.
  • Ensure that appropriate safety records are maintained.
  • Maintain work areas in a neat, safe, and orderly fashion.
  • Investigate cause of an incident and complete reports as required.
  • Assist Site Manager with administrative counseling to team members and subcontractors who are non-compliant with safety requirements.
  • Hold safety meetings/jobsite reviews as part of coordination meetings.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings.
  • Conduct orientation and jobsite-specific training.
  • Communicate, implement and enforce Gray’s safety program on site.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR 5+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • OSHA 30 Hour card.
  • Experience in an industrial construction environment is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite programs.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Energetic, self-motivated individual who is passionate about collaboration and professional development.

This position requires travel as our projects are scattered throughout the United States and, in some cases, outside of the U.S. The selected candidate can live anywhere in the USA, but would be required to travel to the project site per Gray’s travel policy.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Must frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, talk or hear. Regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs. Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, vibration, and moderate to loud noise.

Overtime may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Indirection ally manages subcontractor safety personnel.
