The successful candidate for this position will be a key part of the Engineering Team and will be responsible for project and construction management of industrial development including new builds, retrofits, expansion, and program initiatives from site selection through contract execution. Construction managers are responsible for construction of new Fulfillment Centers (FCs), Sortation Centers (SCs), Delivery Stations (DSs), and auxiliary buildings, as well as renovations and tenant improvements at existing buildings.

Construction managers will also handle the implementation of the facility network infrastructure. They are required to perform detailed deep‑dive reviews of job budgets and programs to identify and resolve discrepancies, including information in contractor bid packages. They will partner with internal customers and external stakeholders such as consultants and contractors to earn trust and deliver projects efficiently. The construction manager serves as Amazon's representative and primary interface with developers and general contractors, integrating construction with other stakeholders responsible for equipping, furnishing, and operating our FCs.

This opportunity combines construction engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management.

The role is based in Dubai, UAE with 40‑60% travel either domestically or to other AMET countries.

• Manage project and construction of new fulfillment centers in the AMET region and renovations or capacity improvements within existing facilities.
• Advise on impacts of changes in schedule, cost, and permitting.
• Support scope review and development with internal technical teams and operational customers for design efforts on new and remodel projects.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from small renovations to large new facilities ($100M+).
• Work independently in the assigned regional area with minimal direction.
• Prepare reports, specifications, and technical analysis to define design requirements and equipment/services needed for expansion and remodel projects.
• Negotiate contracts and contract changes with developers and general contractors; present formal documentation for approval.
• Provide overall site management, coordination, planning and specification of business proposals; coordinate subcontractors.
• Assess project performance through KPIs for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability.
• Partner with teams transitioning base‑building management and overseeing all turnover documentation.
• Review designs and ongoing construction for conformity to current building specifications.
• Provide critical review of current design standards to identify value engineering and design enhancement opportunities.
• Review, receipt, and analysis of all proposed cost and time change requests from external project teams.
• Guide internal requested changes for validity, impact, and timely, cost‑sensitive incorporation.
• Lead or assist in negotiations with regulatory bodies and authority‑having‑jurisdiction entities as required.
• Maintain positive, clear, concise, and transparent cross‑team communication for all aspects of project delivery.

Represent Amazon GES in ensuring successful delivery of Amazon construction projects while strategically improving processes, health & safety, and sustainability performance. Lead and mentor large cross‑functional teams and act as subject‑matter expert in engineering, providing guidance on technical solutions, cost impact, and risk.

Daily tasks include site validation, due diligence, risk analysis, design management, contract and cost negotiations, and stakeholder management. Excellent communication skills with front‑line and executive‑level managers are required.
