Whether you're just starting your career or you are an experienced technician looking for a new challenge, S&ME is looking for full‑time Construction Materials Engineering Technicians of all levels to join our Construction Services team in Nashville, Tennessee.
Our technicians are essential to ensuring that the materials used to build everything from restaurants to stadiums meet the right quality and safety standards.
Your Day‑to‑DayWe provide on‑the‑job training, mentorship, and a clear path for growth. From the first day you will be in the field helping to test materials, collect samples, interpret data, and collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure compliance.
- Field & Lab Testing – perform field and laboratory testing on construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
- Sample Collection & Preparation – collect and prepare samples for analysis.
- Data Interpretation & Reporting – interpret test results and prepare detailed reports.
- Team Collaboration & Compliance – work closely with engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
- Shift Flexibility – experience shifting work hours based on project needs, including early mornings, Saturdays, and overtime.
- Travel – travel expenses are covered when needed for assistance with other offices.
- All Experience Levels – we welcome candidates from Associate Technician to Technician IV based on experience and education.
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills in English.
- Basic math skills with understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as required.
Compensation – based on experience and industry certifications.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Walk over uneven terrain and stand for long periods, up to 12 hours a day.
- Lift and carry 40–50 lbs of samples and equipment.
- Operate field equipment safely on uneven ground around active construction sites.

This full‑time role offers competitive pay based on experience. Candidates must comply with S&ME’s Fleet Management, Substance Policy, and Reference Check requirements. Valid I‑9 employment eligibility is required. Visa assistance is not available.
