Estimator – Healthcare & Commercial Construction

Overview

A top-ranked Southeast‑based commercial contractor is actively hiring an experienced Estimator to support its growing pipeline of healthcare and large‑scale commercial projects. With offices in Birmingham and Nashville, this firm has built a strong reputation over the past 30+ years by consistently delivering on complex projects across the region—with a special focus on medical centers, outpatient facilities, and mission‑critical spaces.

• 5+ years of commercial estimating experience; healthcare or hospital project experience preferred
• Experience with hard‑bid processes and familiarity with public bidding requirements
• Strong knowledge of local subcontractor markets in Alabama and/or Tennessee
• Proven ability to manage complex estimates for projects $20M and above
• Working knowledge of estimating software, takeoff platforms, and cost tracking tools

• Lead quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for large healthcare and commercial projects
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and subcontractor proposals to ensure full scope coverage
• Manage hard‑bid proposals and preconstruction deliverables for public and private clients
• Interface with project managers, clients, and design teams to clarify scope and pricing assumptions
• Support procurement, bid strategy, value engineering, and cost tracking
• Maintain relationships with local subcontractors across Alabama and Tennessee
