The Worship Director works alongside the pastor to craft and lead weekly congregational worship services. This role combines musical leadership, administrative coordination, and volunteer development to help create meaningful and seamless worship experiences.
Functions & Responsibilities- Schedule and communicate with weekly volunteers for Sunday service, and a monthly Wednesday evening service
- Complete weekly service planning and preparation tasks
- Work with pastor to create and implement unique and community specific worship vision
- Input service details in Planning Center for weekly and special services
- Complete assigned tasks from Sunday debriefs
- Carry out worship-related projects
- Attend team and staff meetings
- Schedule and plan for special services and events
- Support organization and planning for team gatherings
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members
- Identify, train, coach, and develop additional worship leaders
- Manage, edit, and organize song charts and worship resources
- Lead worship and rehearsals for weekly and special services
- Create and manage worship budget
- Gain a thorough working knowledge of Planning Center, Music Stand, andPro Presenter
- Develop familiarity with all existing musical and technical equipment
- The ideal candidate:
- Strong musical and vocal ability
- Understand how to craft services within a set liturgy and lectionary
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other software-based systems
- Working knowledge of audio/visual systems
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and collaborate effectively with the Midtown team
- Ability to lead and direct worship teams and services
- Ability to take initiative and work independently without constant direction
- Humility, flexibility, and a teachable spirit
- Hungry for growth in relationship with Christ
- Humble leader who is open to feedback and loves to learn
- Embraces change as opportunity for positive growth, for self and organization
