Certified 6th Grade Science Teacher

💡 Licensure Note:

• K–5 Science license holders may teach one grade up (6th grade).

• 7–12 Science license holders may teach one grade down (6th grade).

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Education or related field

• Valid Tennessee Teaching License with Science endorsement

• Strong science content knowledge

• Demonstrated commitment to Anti-Racism, Equity, Inclusion, Diversity, and Belonging

• A proven track record of motivating and inspiring students to achieve at high levels

• Integrity, professionalism, and a growth mindset

• Ability to collaborate with a team and communicate effectively

As a 6th Grade Science Teacher, you will:

• Design and deliver engaging, rigorous lessons aligned with Tennessee State Standards and STEM Prep benchmarks

• Create inquiry-driven, hands-on learning experiences that spark curiosity in science

• Implement strategies and accommodations for ELL and Exceptional Education students

• Collaborate with families and community members to support student success

• Participate in high-quality professional development and receive ongoing coaching from Academic Deans

• Administer and prepare students for state assessments

• Contribute to a positive, supportive, and well-managed classroom culture

• Model STEM Prep’s values and culture of excellence through leadership and teamwork
