Position
Purpose:
Belmont University is seeking a highly motivated and student-focused graduate student to serve as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Admissions. This position will work closely with an Admissions Counselor and the Bridges to Belmont Scholarship team to support recruitment, outreach, and engagement initiatives for prospective and current Bridges scholars.
- Collaborate with the Admissions Counselor assigned to the Bridges to Belmont program to plan, organize, and execute recruitment events, campus visits, and scholarship-related programming.
- Assist in outreach to high school counselors, community-based organizations, and prospective students through phone calls, emails, and in-person visits.
- Support the planning and implementation of candidate days, informational sessions, and special events for prospective Bridges scholars and their families.
- Contribute to the development of recruitment materials, presentations, and digital content that promote the Bridges to Belmont Scholarship.
- Maintain accurate records of prospective student interactions, event attendance, and follow-up actions in the admissions database.
- Assist in coordinating campus visits for groups from partner high schools, ensuring an engaging and informative experience.
- Collaborate with other Admissions staff to provide excellent customer service to students and families, answering questions about admissions, financial aid, and the Bridges program.
- Support ongoing program assessment through data collection, event evaluations, and feedback reports to improve outreach and engagement strategies.
- Help manage social media content and digital communication related to Bridges to Belmont recruitment efforts.
- Assist with GPA calculations as requested.
- Strong interest in higher education access, college readiness, and student success.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms.
- Experience in event planning, student leadership, or community outreach is preferred.
- Must be enrolled in a graduate program, preferably at Belmont University in education, communication, counseling, leadership, or a related field.
