• Position Type: 10-Month
- Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned ESL instruction that supports scholars in acquiring English language proficiency and accessing grade-level content.
- Use data to monitor scholar progress and tailor instruction to meet individual language learning needs.
- Foster a classroom environment where scholars feel valued, inspired, and supported to succeed academically and socially.
- Partner with classroom teachers to implement effective strategies for English language development and content integration.
- Participate in weekly professional development sessions, embracing constructive feedback to continuously improve your craft.
- Share best practices and resources with colleagues to create a school culture of growth and shared accountability.
- Administer language proficiency assessments to monitor scholar growth and inform instructional planning.
- Design and implement strategies to support scholars at varying levels of English proficiency, including newcomers.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal requirements related to English Learners (ELs).
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues to create a supportive school environment.
- Communicate frequently with families regarding scholar progress, fostering a partnership in their child’s success.
- Advocate for the needs of English Learners, ensuring equitable access to academic opportunities and resources.
- Passionate about working with English Learners and committed to helping them achieve their full potential.
- A lifelong learner who welcomes feedback and seeks opportunities to refine your teaching practice.
- Resilient and resourceful, with a strong belief in the potential of every child.
- Skilled in data analysis and capable of using results to inform instruction and drive outcomes.
- An excellent communicator who values relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues.
- Bachelor’s degree (required).
- Valid ESL teaching certification or enrollment in a state-accredited Alternative Certification Program by the start of employment.
- Preferred:
Previous experience teaching English Learners, particularly in underserved communities.
