Compensation:
Starting salary $53,610
- Designing and delivering rigorous, standards‑aligned instruction that is appropriately scaffolded and differentiated to meet the diverse language, learning, and accessibility needs of ESL and SPED scholars.
- Serving as an expert in specialized instruction, language development, and accommodations, leveraging IEPs, 504 plans, and language proficiency data to drive strong instructional decisions and academic growth.
- Setting ambitious, individualized academic and language goals with scholars, closely monitoring progress, and providing frequent, actionable feedback that supports mastery and builds confidence.
- Analyzing student data and collaborating closely with general education teachers, interventionists, and school‑based leadership to develop and implement targeted support plans when achievement concerns arise.
- Building strong, trusting partnerships with scholars and families through consistent, culturally responsive, and proactive communication.
- Creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment that supports scholars’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Maintaining compliance with all special education and ESL requirements, including documentation, progress monitoring, service delivery minutes, and timely submission of required reports.
- Collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure aligned instruction, shared accountability, and high expectations for all scholars.
- Performing additional duties as assigned in service of school and scholar success.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university
- Valid state teaching license/certification (Tennessee or Mississippi), or a commitment to enroll in an approved alternative certification program upon hire
- Strong ability to navigate instructional technology and data systems
- Ability to design and deliver instruction using a variety of digital tools and learning platforms
- Openness to giving and receiving frequent, actionable feedback as part of a continuous improvement culture
- Ability to maintain professionalism and emotional composure in high‑pressure situations
- A demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning, growth, and professional development

- Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience; the starting salary for a first‑year teacher in Jackson, MS is $47,895 and Nashville, TN is $53,610 - Retirement Plans:
Employees may participate in the TCRS retirement plan in Nashville, TN, or the Principal retirement plan in Jackson, MS - Paid Time Off: 10 days of PTO, including 8 personal leave days and 2 mental health days, plus network closures
- Paid Leave Programming:
Maternity/paternity leave paid at 100% for up to 4 weeks (less than one year of service) or up to 9 weeks at 100% followed by 3 weeks at 40% (more than one year) - Comprehensive Benefits: $10,000 employer‑paid life insurance at 100% coverage, term life and disability insurance, and Carrot Fertility benefits with 100% premium coverage
