This two-year fellowship provides an intensive, mentored research experience designed to support the transition from doctoral training to an independent research career.
Fellows have opportunities to develop their research program, publish in peer-reviewed journals, develop and pursue grant opportunities, present their work at national and international conferences, and collaboration. The program also provides access to research resources, specialized workshops and seminars, and support for developing the skills and professional network needed for a successful research career.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to reach out to potential mentors before applying to discuss research interests, mentorship fit, and potential opportunities for collaboration.
Admission Requirements- 1. Applicants must be registered nurses (RN) with a research doctorate (PhD) in nursing awarded within the last two years and prior to the start of the postdoctoral appointment.
- 2. Proficient English skills for academic writing.
- 3. Be eligible for either an H-1B or J-1 visa. Applicants should note that sponsorship is contingent upon current federal requirements and associated costs to the institution.

- 2. Curriculum Vitae (with links to your publications)
- 3. Three Letters of Recommendation At least one letter should come from a member of your dissertation committee.
- 4. Cover Letter that describes previous research experience, goals for postdoctoral training and career, focus/area of research and a VUSN faculty member who could potentially serve as mentor, expectations/needs during mentorship, and an idea for potential research project to carry out during the postdoctoral training.
