Civil Design Engineer – Water/Wastewater

We have an opening for a motivated and driven Civil Design Engineer –
Water/Wastewater in Nashville, TN
. The role requires 2–5 years of experience, preferably in a consulting environment focused on water and wastewater design, including utility design work such as pipe, treatment plant, tank and pump station design. Regular client interaction is required; prior experience working with municipal clients is essential. Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, an ability to conduct client presentations, and prepare written reports.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required; familiarity with Water
CAD, Innovyze, or similar hydraulic system modeling software is preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Biosystems Engineering. Professional Engineering registration strongly preferred.
- Experience: 2–5 years working with municipal water/wastewater clients.
- Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Progressive experience in planning, design, construction administration, and permitting of infrastructure improvements.
- Ability to maintain a regular schedule (7:30 AM – 5:30 PM Mon‑Thu; 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM Fri) and occasional evening or weekend work.
- Strong prioritization and multitasking abilities.
- Highly client‑service oriented, self‑starter, and team player.
- Problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness to visit construction sites, attend project meetings, and meet clients.
- In‑depth knowledge of construction methods, utility construction materials, and water/wastewater treatment technologies.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic analysis and design.
- Excellent time‑management skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
- Basic skills using financial reporting tools to evaluate project performance.
- Strong leadership skills.
