HMB Professional Engineers is seeking a CEI Inspector with experience in Construction Engineering & Inspection, particularly on Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) projects.

• The Inspector will be assigned to work in Nashville or Chattanooga, TN.
• Perform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
• Coordinate and manage lower‑level inspectors.
• Perform work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Sets own project deadlines.
• Provides on‑the‑job training to new employees.
• Monitors conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
• Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
• Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
• Tracks quality assurance progress.
• Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 8+ years of related CEI experience including work on TDOT projects.
• Maintain the physical endurance to work in various outdoor environments, including extreme heat and cold.
• Candidates must be trustworthy and responsible.
• Daily travel and/or overnight stays may be required depending on project needs.
• Valid TN Driver's license, with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Successful completion of drug screening and background check.

• TDT Hot Mix Asphalt Certified Roadway Technician.
• Nuclear Radiation Safety.
• Tennessee Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors.
