Essential Responsibilities- Conduct field investigations and failure analysis of commercial, residential, and industrial mechanical systems and components. Mechanical failure analysis work includes determining causes of mechanical failures, gas‑related fires and explosions, product liability, construction, or design defects, HVAC systems, plumbing and piping systems, industrial machinery, boilers, hydraulics, pumps, boilers, compressors, cranes, and/or motor vehicles.
- Inspect losses and loss scenes at residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
- Investigate and assess damages and evidence due to failures and determine the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support.
- Analyze and document the failure analysis and causation of failures.
- Examine and test evidence in a laboratory setting and research failure modes, products, installations, and maintenance related to findings.
- Collaborate with other experts to produce detailed reports outlining the origin and cause of losses and damages.
