Senior Electrical Engineer

Join a multidisciplinary team supporting the design and delivery of advanced nuclear and national security infrastructure projects. Engineers will contribute to the development of power systems supporting next-generation reactor technologies as well as DOE nuclear facilities operating under rigorous NQA-1 quality programs.

Responsibilities may include electrical system design, equipment specification development, power system modeling, short circuit and coordination studies, grounding design, cable and raceway engineering, procurement support, and construction turnover activities. Engineers will work across all phases of execution, from conceptual design through detailed engineering, construction support, commissioning, and startup.

• Lead the development, review, and coordination of electrical engineering designs for commercial nuclear, DOE, and other highly regulated industrial projects.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to electrical engineers and designers, ensuring deliverables meet project requirements, quality standards, budgets, and schedules.
• Serve as the electrical engineering subject matter expert for complex design challenges and technical decision-making.
• Review, approve, and provide quality oversight of engineering calculations, specifications, studies, drawings, and design packages.
• Lead and perform detailed AC and DC power system analyses using ETAP, including:
• Voltage Drop Studies
• Load Flow and System Capacity Evaluations
• Develop engineering recommendations based on study results and ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards.

• Develop design criteria, scopes of work, engineering packages, and technical documentation.
• Lead constructability reviews and design optimization efforts throughout project execution.
• Design and review electrical power distribution systems, grounding systems, lighting systems, communications systems, security systems, and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Support engineering change evaluations and manage design modifications throughout project life cycles.
• Develop and review technical equipment specifications, bid packages, and procurement documentation.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and provide technical recommendations for equipment selection.
• Coordinate vendor interfaces, review vendor drawings and submittals, and manage technical inquiries throughout the procurement process.

• Coordinate electrical engineering activities with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, structural, civil, I&C, and construction personnel.
• Act as the primary electrical engineering contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
