RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour shifts per week on the 7th floor Trauma Med/Surg unit

• Schedule includes 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule

• Patient ratio of 6:1 with 34-bed unit capacity

• Tech support available on day and night shifts with unit secretary coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

• Work with equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology

• Use Meditech documentation system

• Contract labor staff are first to float with rotation system when multiple contract staff are scheduled

• Required to wear navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)

• Must have active RN license and BLS certification

• Skills include Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes

• Provide bedside shift reports and compassionate care to patients and family members

• Expected to make personal connections with patients and include them/family members in their plan of care
