Position: Cash Posting Specialist

About The Role

The purpose of this position is to ensure that the overall patient account is billed, reimbursed, posted, and money allocated appropriately to get the balance of the account to a zero balance. The candidate for this role would need to be diverse in all aspects of the revenue cycle as they will understand the complexities of the life cycle of a claim.

Responsibilities
  • Communication skills:
    Communicate with internal teammates, insurance companies, or patients for resolution of accounts.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy:
    Ensure accurate posting of insurance and/or patient payments into the billing system and reconcile accounts to maintain accuracy.
  • Problem‑solving:
    Identify account issues and develop strategies to resolve them while working with insurance payers and/or patients.
  • Organization:
    Keep track of caseload and information gathered during account reviews, maintaining a tidy workspace to complete work on time.
Requirements
  • 3–5 years of experience in cash posting and/or reconciliation of patient accounts.
  • Proficient in Google, Google Docs, and advanced Excel.
  • Experience with Nex Gen is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Meet deadlines and KPI metric expectations.
  • Experience navigating clearinghouses and insurance portals.
  • Proficiency with medical record technology.
  • Able to work a hybrid schedule of 4 days per week in Nashville and located within 75 minutes of the office.

Additional Information

Please note that this role is not available to candidates in Alaska, Maine, Washington DC, New Jersey, California, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Colorado, Washington State, Oregon, or Minnesota.

The expected base pay for this role will be between $45,000 and $52,500 per year at the commencement of employment. Base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location and years of experience. Base pay is only part of the total compensation package, which may also include incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other benefits.
