Position OverviewThe Behavior Technician will provide educational and behavioral support to children with exceptional needs in a school setting. This role involves working 1:1 with students, assisting with daily living skills, and collaborating with teachers and behavioral specialists to achieve learning and behavioral goals.
Key Responsibilities- Work directly with students in a low-incidence classroom setting.
- Assist with toileting and daily living skills.
- Support students with exceptional needs, typically in general education settings.
- Manage behaviors, which may include occasional aggressive behaviors.
- Be flexible to support other students or classrooms as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One of the following:
- 60 college credits
- Associate’s degree
- Paraprofessional license
- At least 1–2 years of behavioral experience (pediatric experience preferred).
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Current CPR certification (if applicable).
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable).
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Must live within 20 minutes of the school.
- Must complete fingerprinting in Tennessee prior to starting.
- No client interview required.
- Updated resume.
- Proof of qualifications (college credits, degree, or license).
