- Unit: 6th, Post-Op Medical/Surgical
- Facility Type: Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level II Trauma Center, Chest Pain Center
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel nurse contract)
- Start Date: November 24, 2025
- End Date: February 23, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00PM - 7:00AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shifts per week: 3
- Estimated weekly salary: $1,530 - $1,640
- Patient Ratio: 6:1
- Unit Size: 34 beds
- Staff Support: Tech support (day/night); unit secretary (7a-7p)
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- Strong clinical skills in IV starts, wound care, surgical drain, nasogastric tube, and chest tube maintenance
- Ability to prioritize patient care and multitask in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Deliver compassionate, attentive care to post-operative Med/Surg patients
- Conduct bedside shift reports and build positive relationships with patients and families
- Engage patients and family members in the plan of care
- Operate clinical equipment: IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximetry, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG, bladder scanner, and iMobile technology
- Document all patient care activities using Meditech EHR
- Float to other nursing units as needed per facility policy
