RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• 36-bed medical-surgical unit located on 12 Tower

• Patient ratios: 1:4 or 1:5

• 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week block

• Floating over core staff when needed

• Equipment includes PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps

• Documentation system:
Meditech

• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS

• Dress code:
Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue scrubs

• Perform basic patient assessments and general care for wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, strokes, and seizures

• Patient population may require dialysis or PCA pumps with Heparin drips

• Handle post-operative procedures including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs

• Participate in bedside shift reports and safety checks every 1-2 hours

• Follow HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring

• Implement fall prevention measures and 100% medication scanning including controlled substances

• Unit support includes secretary coverage daily and PRN technicians

• Treated as core staff with same level of accountability and recognition
