- Unit Capacity: 23 Beds
- Population Served:
Patients with acute medical/surgical disease processes requiring observation or inpatient acute care admission - Ages of Patients Served:
Young Adult through Late Adult (18 - 60+) - Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:6
- Core Staffing Plan includes Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Nurse Interns (NIs). An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team.
- Staffing Certification includes Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification and successful completion of a proctored rhythm test
Job Details
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) must be AHA certified
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Ascension Medical Surgical Exam required prior to start and updated every 3 years thereafter
- Ascension Color Vision test required prior to start and updated every 3 years
- Ascension Core Competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission
-NPSG, OSHA Topics completed within a year of start and updated yearly - NIH Certification required
- Ascension EKG Exam required prior to start
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation required
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding required
- Ascension Nova Stat Strip required prior to start
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out required prior to start
- MMR vaccination or positive IGG Titer required, no declinations accepted
- Fit Test required, preferred prior to start, updated annually
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination documentation required
- Influenza Vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Health Statement or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) required within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
- Varicella vaccination or immunity verification required, no declinations accepted
- Tdap vaccination valid for 10 years required
- Ascension Skills Checklist clinical only, to be completed within one year of start and updated annually
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
- Ascension Education Verification within 90 days of start
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment required upon initial assignment and updates
- Ascension Employment Verification required for past seven years and updated annually
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search and National Sex Offender within 30 days of first assignment and updated annually

Unit Specific Information
- At the completion of assignment, vendor partner sends survey link to contract worker to be completed within 72 hours
- Flu season is October 1, 2024 through March 31, 2025; exemptions/declinations accepted but candidate must wear a mask at all times
