Position Overview
As an In Room Dining Attendant at The Hermitage Hotel, you deliver polished, discreet, and highly personalized dining experiences within the guest’s private space. You serve as an extension of the hotel’s culinary and service philosophy, executing each interaction with precision, warmth, and respect for privacy. Your role ensures that in‑room dining is seamless, refined, and consistently aligned with the hotel’s highest service standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesService Execution and Guest Room Presence
- Deliver in‑room dining orders with accuracy, proper timing, and impeccable presentation.
- Enter and exit guest rooms with professionalism, discretion, and respect for guest privacy.
- Set up and clear in‑room dining service with precision, including proper placement of tables, linens, china, glassware, and amenities.
- Execute all steps of service calmly and confidently, from delivery through tray retrieval.
- Maintain a polished, composed presence while working independently in guest spaces.
- Anticipate guest needs by observing cues and honoring preferences, dietary restrictions, and special requests.
- Provide warm, intuitive, and appropriately formal service.
- Offer menu guidance and respond to guest inquiries with clarity and confidence.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and discreetly, escalating when appropriate.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all in‑room dining food, beverage, and amenity offerings.
- Ensure all items are delivered at proper temperatures and in flawless condition.
- Stay current on seasonal menus, daily features, and service updates.
- Coordinate closely with culinary and service teams to ensure accurate timing and execution.
- Process orders and payments accurately using the POS system.
- Manage tray retrieval and service flow efficiently while respecting guest privacy.
- Complete opening, closing, and mid‑shift duties as assigned.
- Inspect, restock, and document mini‑bar inventory as assigned.
- Ensure product presentation, cleanliness, and accuracy.
- Report discrepancies or maintenance concerns promptly.
- Communicate professionally with all departments to support seamless service delivery.
- Participate in pre‑shift briefings to align on priorities and guest needs.
- Support team members during peak periods while maintaining accountability for assigned duties.
- Uphold grooming, hygiene, and professional appearance standards at all times.
- Conduct quality checks prior to delivery to ensure accuracy and presentation.
- Protect guest confidentiality and maintain discretion.
- Previous experience in hospitality, guest service, or food and beverage service.
- Strong verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent time management, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Proficiency with POS systems.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak service periods.
- Poised, calm, and professional demeanor.
- Strong awareness of guest cues and privacy expectations.
- Clear, warm, and respectful communication style.
- Detail oriented and service focused mindset.
- Collaborative and accountable team approach.
- Experience in luxury hotel or in‑room dining operations.
- Food, beverage, or allergen awareness training.
- Familiarity with mini‑bar procedures or inventory systems.
