The Banquet Captain is responsible for the successful execution of banquet and catering events with a focus on timely room setups, food and beverage readiness, event execution, and efficient room turns. This position provides hands-on leadership to banquet associates, coordinates operational activities with culinary and hotel teams, and ensures all events are executed according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), company standards, and established timelines.

What you'll do (mostly this...other duties may be assigned):

• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and communicate event requirements to banquet teams.
• Lead banquet staff during event setup, service, breakdown, and room turnover activities.
• Ensure banquet rooms are set accurately and completed on schedule according to event specifications and brand standards.
• Coordinate with culinary and beverage teams to ensure all food, beverage, and service elements are prepared and delivered on time.
• Monitor event timelines and direct staff to ensure functions begin and conclude as scheduled.
• Oversee room breakdowns and resets to ensure meeting and event spaces are ready for subsequent functions within required time frames.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and assign responsibilities to banquet staff.
• Inspect event spaces before, during, and after functions to ensure cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards are maintained.
• Manage multiple event setups, functions, and room turns while maintaining operational efficiency and attention to detail.
• Assist with training, coaching, and mentoring banquet associates.
• Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards.
• Communicate operational challenges, maintenance concerns, and staffing needs to management in a timely manner.

What we're looking for:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous banquet or hotel food and beverage experience required
• Leadership experience preferred

Over the years, we've worked with big hotel companies like Hilton and Marriott to create these projects. So far, we've built 38 hotels from the ground up, investing over $600 million. Today, we own and manage 9 hotels in the Southeast, including 8 that are part of the Hilton and Marriott brands.

We're also working on 5 more hotels that are either being built or planned.

Pay for this position: $25/hr DOE
