Job Summary And Qualifications

The Corporate Employee Relations Director, based in HCA Healthcare’s Nashville corporate office, serves as a key HR leader dedicated to fostering positive employee relations and supporting the organization’s employee relations, engagement, retention, and overall human resources strategy. This role is instrumental in driving execution of the Labor & Employee Relations strategic agenda by acting as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, offering guidance on a broad spectrum of labor and employee relations matters.

The Director is responsible for leading execution of our strategic initiatives and projects at an enterprise level; developing and delivering training programs; building leader capability in communications, support, recognition, and other key areas; overseeing complex or sensitive internal investigations; and serving as an overall subject matter expert on the organization’s Labor & Employee Relations strategy. In addition, the Director may oversee other Labor & Employee Relations professionals, either permanently or temporarily, providing leadership and direction to ensure the advancement of our organization’s goals.

  • Lead and advise executive leaders on a strategic approach to employee relations, engagement, and retention. Conduct thorough assessments of employee relations programs, HR practices, and workplace culture. Lead focus groups, analyze feedback, and develop actionable recommendations to strengthen employee engagement and organizational culture.
  • Proactively identify locations or departments with elevated employee relations, engagement, or retention risks by analyzing workforce trends, organizational practices, cultural or key performance indicators, and feedback gathered through established relationships with leadership. Recommend targeted actions to address concerns and strengthen overall workforce engagement and retention.
