Principal Network Reliability Engineer – Oracle

Join Oracle as a Principal Network Reliability Engineer. This role focuses on designing, deploying, and supporting a large‑scale global Oracle Cloud Infrastructure network fabric, combining deep networking expertise with programming skills.

• Participate in network solution and architecture design processes.
• Serve in operational support rotations as primary and secondary engineer.
• Provide break‑fix support, act as escalation point, and lead post‑event root cause analysis.
• Join major incident calls, using technical and analytical skills to resolve network issues impacting Oracle customers and services.
• Handle fault identification and escalation, collaborating with third‑party suppliers and resolving incidents to resolution.
• Collaborate with program and project managers to develop milestones and deliverables.
• Develop and execute network changes using existing procedures and tools; create new procedures when necessary.
• Develop solutions that enable front‑line support teams to act on network failure conditions.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Coordinate with networking automation services for development and integration of support tooling.
• Coordinate with network monitoring to gather telemetry and create alert‑rules.
• Build dashboards to represent data at various network layers and device roles to help identify issues and anomalies.
• Frequently develop scripts to automate routine tasks for the team and business units.
• Serve as SME on software development projects for network automation and monitoring.
• Collaborate with network vendor technical account teams and internal QA to drive bug resolution and qualify new firmware or operating systems.

• 7+ years of experience in networking technologies.
• Proficiency with network technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS).
• Proficiency with Python or a similar scripting language.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; thriving in collaborative and agile teams.
• Ownership mindset – delivering results, embracing ambiguity, and driving continuous improvements.
• Experience working in a network support role.

• Proficiency with additional network protocols (IS‑IS, RSVP‑TE, EVPN, VxLAN, DHCP, DNS, IPv4/IPv6).
• Experience with network modeling and programming (YAML, YANG, Open Config, NETCONF).
• Experience with network monitoring and telemetry solutions.
• Experience with ticketing systems such as Jira and version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of Scrum and Agile methodologies.

Hiring range $86,400 – $199,500 per year. Eligible for bonus and equity.
