Job Summary To conceptualize| design and deliver product / sustenance delivery through the team as per defined scope and standards in a particular technology (1.)

Key Responsibilities 1. To architect| design and develop (through Team) solution for product/project & sustenance delivery 2. To support as an SME 3. To ensure knowledge up-gradation and work with new technologies so that the solution is current and meets quality standards and the client requirements 4. To train and develop a team so as to ensure that there is an adequate supply of trained manpower in the said technology and deliver risks are mitigated 5.

To gather specifications and deliver solutions to the client organization based on understanding of a domain or technology 6. To review project deliverables. 7. To recommend client value creation initiatives and implement industry best practices (on specific technology/product) Exp: 7-12 Years

Description:

Strong knowledge of Progress Open Edge, including Progress 4GL, ABL, and database concepts (tables, indexes, triggers). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills are crucial for both roles.

Experience with relational databases and SQL, and familiarity with operating systems like Windows or Unix/Linux are often required. Familiarity with source control systems like Git is increasingly common Install, upgrade, and maintain Progress Open Edge databases, including managing advanced features like auditing, replication, and App Server. Monitor and tune database performance, optimize queries, and recommend system-wide changes to enhance operation. Implement and execute backup and recovery strategies, perform dump and load operations, and manage disaster recovery planning.

Daily monitoring of database health and performance, with an emphasis on security administration, user access, and logging. Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues, often involving scripting (shell/bash) for automation.

Experience with Unix/Linux environments and familiarity with related tools like Admin Server, Name Server, and App Server are common. Design, develop, and maintain business applications using Progress 4GL, Open Edge, and ABL. Work with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Ensure applications are responsive and scalable by optimizing them for speed and performance. Support Progress batch jobs, perform code reviews, and troubleshoot application issues May need to implement web services, XML parsing, and Pro Data Sets .
