AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We keep the cloud running by supporting all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and more. Together we provide safety, security, and capacity at the lowest cost while fostering an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers us to own them to completion.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly and we are looking for a Data Center Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. Our scope of work includes systems, repairs, issue handling, parts tracking, and assisting in data center maintenance at large‑scale, high‑density centers that change the face of technology in each region.

Key job responsibilities

• Troubleshoot advanced hardware issues (servers, storage, networking) on a 24/7 basis.
• Maintain high system reliability and availability.
• Participate in projects to enhance operational efficiencies and share experiences with our global technical network.
• Share knowledge and train less technical staff on best practices related to all service owner issues.
• Contribute to building a strong team by participating in Amazon hiring process and candidate interviews.

A day in the life

• Install and configure servers and network systems.
• Install, troubleshoot, and replace internal and external hardware parts of servers and network devices.
• Work within a ticket‑based environment and systematically resolve problems.
• Work on a rotational shift‑based schedule to maintain high system reliability.
• Collaborate with internal teams, share ideas, and contribute to innovative projects improving the DC work environment and efficiencies.
• Perform physically active tasks, moving around onsite continuously.

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ year of computer networking experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
• Customer‑facing problem resolution experience and working efficiently under pressure.
• Work and prioritize using a ticketing system.
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
• Experience working in a data center environment (racking, stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
