The firm is seeking an experienced Healthcare Regulatory Partner to join its dynamic team. This individual will counsel a variety of healthcare clients—including hospitals, health systems, physician practices, software/device companies, and emerging health tech platforms—on a range of compliance, regulatory, and operational matters. The ideal candidate will bring a portable book of business of at least $500k - $1M+ and a strong track record in delivering value-driven counsel.
Key Responsibilities- Advise healthcare clients on federal and state healthcare regulations, including fraud and abuse laws, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA, and Medicare/Medicaid compliance.
- Counsel clients on business structuring, operational compliance, licensing, and corporate governance in healthcare transactions.
- Navigate regulatory risks in transactions involving private equity and venture-backed healthcare entities.
- Provide guidance on telemedicine, digital health platforms, and value-based care initiatives.
- Collaborate with litigation, corporate, and labor & employment attorneys across the firm.
- Build and grow a niche healthcare regulatory practice within the firm’s established national platform.
- Active license to practice law in one of the listed states (NY, PA, NJ, or TN).
- If
portable book of business: $1M+ (estimated take-home: $500k–$600k). - Deep knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations and regulatory agencies.
- Comfortable billing at competitive rates:
- Junior Partner: $600/hr
- Senior Partner: $700/hr+
- Proven ability to independently manage client relationships and regulatory work streams.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a collaborative yet autonomous environment.
- Billing Target: 1,600 hours/year (flexible for larger books).
- Client Base: Ranges from enterprise clients to mid-size healthcare businesses.
- High-performing but not a “sweatshop.”
- Encourages independent development of niche practices.
- Late nights/early mornings are occasionally expected.
- Paralegal support limited in this practice group (more prominent in litigation).
