Project Kuiper Overview

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low‑latency, high‑speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Role Summary

We are looking for a talented lawyer to join the Amazon Legal team supporting Project Kuiper. You will support Kuiper commercial customer and channel partner contracts, with a focus on customer and partner engagements in North America and South America. You will structure, draft, and negotiate a range of agreements, and counsel the business team on issues that arise in customer and partner engagements.

The successful candidate will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business‑centric ways and build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Structure, draft, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements with customers and partners.
  • Provide counsel to the business team on legal issues arising from customer and partner engagements.
  • Strategically manage legal risk and develop processes that support business flexibility.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support business initiatives.
Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Travel

Some domestic and international travel may be required.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of legal experience
  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
  • Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in Spanish
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in‑house work
