POSITION SUMMARY:
The Development Manager will oversee and manage all phases of real estate development projects, from initial concept through completion. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong project management skills, a deep understanding of real estate development processes, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Project Planning and Feasibility: Conduct feasibility studies, market analysis, and site evaluations to assess project viability. Develop project budgets, schedules, and pro forma financial models.
- Project Management: Oversee all aspects of project execution, including design, permitting, construction, and delivery. Ensure projects meet quality standards, timelines, and budgetary goals.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to align project objectives. Manage relationships with local government agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders to secure approvals and permits.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor project costs. Identify and mitigate financial risks to ensure project profitability.
- Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional project teams, providing direction and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Due Diligence: Perform due diligence on potential acquisitions, including zoning, environmental, and title reviews.
- Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress, risks, and milestones. Prepare detailed reports and presentations as needed.
- Sustainability and Compliance: Ensure projects adhere to environmental regulations, sustainability goals, and local building codes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in real estate development, project management, or a related field. Proven track record of managing complex development projects from inception to completion.
- Strong project management skills with proficiency in all MS Office Products including MS Project, Excel, MRI, Bluebeam Review, ACAD or similar software.
- Excellent understanding of real estate finance, market analysis, and pro forma modeling.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to manage diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of zoning laws, permitting processes, and construction management.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- PMP, LEED, or similar certifications are a plus.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable with a passion for real estate development and community impact.
