Tax Manager - High Net Worth - Nashville, TN

Who: A CPA with at least five years of public accounting experience and specialized expertise in trust, estate, gift, and high-net-worth individual taxation.

What:
Performs final technical reviews, leads tax engagements, manages staff, and provides expert guidance on estate, trust, and gift tax matters.

When:
Full-time position available immediately.

Position Overview

The Tax Manager – Estates, Trusts & High-Net-Worth leads complex compliance and planning engagements, oversees technical reviews, mentors staff, and strengthens client relationships while ensuring exceptional quality and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide final technical review on tax returns and related documents across the client base.
  • Research complex tax issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Stay current on changes in tax legislation and accounting procedures.
  • Direct, schedule, and manage client engagements to ensure timely completion.
  • Communicate with clients to support their best interests and deliver exceptional service.
  • Lead and support staff and supervisors by providing resources, guidance, and a positive work environment.
  • Monitor the quality of completed work and team performance.
  • Assign, track, and manage tasks and projects completed by staff and supervisors.
  • Take an active role in developing and mentoring team members.
  • Build and nurture internal and external relationships to support business development opportunities.
  • Oversee billing, collections, WIP monitoring, aging, and write-downs.
  • Participate in internal CPE and training initiatives.
Qualifications
  • CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of five years of public accounting experience.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing Forms 1041, 706, and 709, as well as high-net-worth 1040 returns and related planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership and staff development skills.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities with initiative.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Excellent organization and ability to prioritize a heavy workload.
