Manager III, Risk Intelligence & Investigations, North American Surface Transportation Compliance

Amazon's North American Surface Transportation (NAST) Safety and Compliance organization assesses the tens of thousands of independent carriers that move freight across Amazon's middle mile in the US and Canada against Amazon's safety and compliance standards.

Within this organization, the Risk Intelligence & Investigations team reviews carrier and account information to confirm that the businesses moving Amazon freight operate consistently with the records they are onboarded under. The team analyzes operational and third-party data, documents what it finds, and shares those findings with compliance, product, and legal partners.

We are looking for a Manager III, Risk to lead this team. You will manage a team of investigators and analysts, set the team's analytical priorities, own detection and case-quality mechanisms, and present findings to senior leadership and to Legal partners. Key job responsibilities

Lead, hire, and develop a team of risk investigators and analysts. Set goals, run calibration, and coach against role guidelines.

Build and scale detection mechanisms with data science and product partners. Define quality and speed metrics and own regular reporting on them.

Monitor emerging risk typologies in freight (double brokering, cargo theft, identity misuse, reincarnated carriers) and synthesize them into leadership-ready narratives and roadmap asks.

About the teamNAST Safety and Compliance, Middle Mile Compliance team runs compliance functions covering carrier standards, insurance and credential standards, safety monitoring, and risk intelligence. We partner across other organizations to set standards and enforce policy. Basic qualifications- 7+ years of conducting workplace risk investigations experience
- Experience in conducting workplace risk investigations
- Experience managing direct reports
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience in security, law enforcement, or intelligence roles

Preferred qualification

- Experience with physical security control and surveillance systems
- Master's degree or equivalent
- Experience in transportation or supply chain within a high-volume logistics, manufacturing or engineering environment

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
