Material Handler – 1st Shift at American Sugar Refining, Inc.

The Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site.
DetailedRoles & Responsibilities
- Follow work orders and/or verbal instructions to determine which materials or containers need to be moved.
- Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand and using a tow motor.
- Record daily material‑handling metrics.
- Maintain inventory of packing materials and finished paper.
- Assist with shipping or receiving as needed.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

- 1–2 years in an industrial manufacturing environment required.
- Prior forklift or tow‑motor experience preferred.
- Ability to be certified is required.
- Proven ability to meet customer and management deadlines.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); equivalent experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must regularly stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
