Job Overview

The Legacy Kids Pastor is responsible for the spiritual growth, discipleship, and pastoral care of children from birth through 5th grade at all Legacy Nashville locations. This role combines administrative excellence with pastoral leadership. With a focus of overseeing our KIDS program, building teams, equipping families, shepherding volunteers, and ensuring every Legacy Kids environment reflects our values.

Experience and Knowledge Required
  • Ability to steward and cultivate the presence of God in children’s services and environments.
  • Strong biblical foundation with the ability to teach God’s Word effectively to children and adults.
  • Proven experience in developing leaders, building volunteer teams, and pastoring people.
  • Experience in leading multiple locations.
  • Experience in discipling children and equipping parents to lead spiritually at home.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide pastoral care, prayer, and support to children and families.
  • Experience teaching and/or working with children in a classroom or ministry setting.
  • Proficient in ministry tools and platforms (e.g., PCO, Trello, Google workspace).
  • Ability to handle multiple projects effectively.
  • Ability to execute large scale events like KIDS Conferences & VBS Outreach events.
Key Responsibilities
  • Team Development
  • Partner with Next Steps to recruit & train new volunteers.
  • Oversee Church wide training and onboarding process for Volunteer Teams.
  • Establish and Oversee serve team culture.
  • Establish and oversee staff team building expectations.
  • Foster an environment of encouragement and support for team members.
  • Develop a leadership Pipeline for emerging leaders within the church.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of volunteers and their interests/skills.
  • Oversee the Ministry Assistant Program.
  • Shepherd Children & Families
  • Oversee the KIDS Program at Legacy that includes discipleship processes for children and families from babies - 5th grade.
  • Provide pastoral care and discipleship for children and their families.
  • Partner with Events Department to Officiate child dedications and partner with parents in covenant discipleship.
  • Equip parents with tools and resources to spiritually lead at home.
  • Be available for pastoral care needs (prayer, hospital visits, crisis support).
  • Spiritual Leadership & Teaching
  • Oversee the excellence and spiritual atmosphere of Revival KIDS Service.
  • Lead and model prayer, worship, and ministry to the Lord in Kids environments.
  • Preach and teach God’s Word in an age-appropriate, biblically sound way.
  • Develop and write Kids curriculum that aligns with Legacy’s vision and theology.
  • Provide pastoral direction and spiritual covering for the Legacy Kids team.
  • Leadership & Oversight
  • Align the Legacy KIDS Program, calendar and objectives to the vision of Legacy’s Senior Pastors.
  • Direct oversight of Legacy Kids Sunday Experience, ensuring excellence and presence-driven services.
  • Lead, develop, and shepherd the Legacy Kids Coordinator, Ministry Assistants, and volunteer teams.
  • Oversee Kids events, programs, and calendar.
  • Maintain and develop policies, safety procedures, incident reports and best practices.
  • Oversee all staff Kids services/programs.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in church ministry or leadership roles. As well as experience with overseeing multiple locations.
  • Skills:
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in using church management software and other relevant technologies.
  • Strong Project Management Skills according to PM policies and protocols at Legacy.
