Responsibilities
  • Operationalize evidence‑based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes while ensuring adherence to standards of care.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, treatment range, and patient care across age groups.
  • Manage all staffing needs and personnel functions—including interviewing, hiring and training of new staff.
  • Oversee patient care on the unit, providing consistent support and expertise to staff.
  • Perform duties in accordance with unit‑specific standards of care and complete competency skill checklists.
  • Maintain overall unit workflow by ensuring proper staff levels.
  • Coordinate all unit activities, safety procedures, unit goals and departmental operations.
  • Handle patient, visitor or physician complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and counseling to department employees.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and departments to improve patient care delivery.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required;
    Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Tennessee or a compact state required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience required.
  • 3–5 years of clinical supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

Tri Star Centennial Medical Center is a 740+‑bed comprehensive facility offering medical and surgical programs, including behavioral health, 24‑hour emergency, heart and vascular, imaging, neurosciences, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, rehabilitation, sleep disorder, and women's services. Located on a 43‑acre campus, the center houses the Tri Star Centennial Heart & Vascular Center, Women’s Hospital, The Children's Hospital, Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute, and advanced joint replacement and pavilions.
