The CRNA administers general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical and obstetrical procedures. The role performs anesthesia‑related procedures at the discretion of and under the supervision of an attending anesthesiologist. The CRNA evaluates patients preoperatively, formulates and carries out an anesthesia care plan, monitors and records patient reaction to anesthesia, and modifies the anesthetic plan accordingly. The CRNA safely transports patients to and from an anesthetizing location and ensures appropriate care during the postoperative period.

The CRNA supervises, instructs, and counsels student nurse anesthetists to ensure patient safety and interacts with staff and patients in a manner that shows respect and consideration for the individual.

Candidates must not have worked for VUMC within the last 12 months to qualify. The sign‑on bonus is only for full‑time positions.

• Up to $10,000 (taxable) within 45 days of hire
• Must relocate from greater than 100 miles
• Relocation bonus is not applicable to current VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past 12 months.

• New graduates accepted during final semester

• Consideration may be given to candidates that can obtain license/certification within 90 days, in accordance with state guidelines.
