** Department/Unit

Summary:

** The Surgical Specialties Unit (9 South) is a 22-bed general acute care inpatient adult unit.  Our unit specializes in the care of the post-operative surgical patient. We are the designated unit for Urologic Surgery patients, but we also care for many other types of surgery patients including oncology-endocrine surgery, emergency general surgery, plastics, head & neck surgery, and others.  Our focus is to provide patient-centered care.
** Shift:
*** Full-Time Day Shift - 6:45 am - 7:15 pm (three 12-hour shifts/week)
* Shifts do rotate throughout the week

Set schedules are not available.  Schedules are determined by unit clinical staffing needs.***
* *** All Employees (Night shift & PRN included) are required to attend hospital orientation during regular daytime hours during the first week of employment.
***** Care Partner Position Qualifications  :
*
* Required:

High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
*** AND
* ** one of the following:
* Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), or
* Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), or
* Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.

*** One year of previous experience in a hospital setting
