* Job Summary:
** Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Clinical Staff Leader (CSL) for its Inpatient Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital. This leadership role, often categorized as an Assistant Nurse Manager, involves overseeing clinical excellence and managing a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

You will help care for pediatric patients ranging from newborns to 24 years of age who are being treated for hematologic and oncologic disorders.

Shift: Variable shift
- Two 8-hour administrative shifts that will typically be nights, but there is flexibility based upon needs of the unit. Two 12-hour night shifts that will typically be 7pm-7am spent in staffing.

Act as the "go-to" clinical resource and mentor for our nursing staff.

Ensure the highest standards of safety and quality for our pediatric Hematology patients.

Oversee unit operations, staff development, and performance and lead with compassion and professionalism

Work closely with a world-renowned medical team to deliver life-changing care.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience:
At least 1 year of RN experience (Required).
• Specialty Expertise:
We highly prefer candidates with a background in Hematology/Oncology.

Education:
BSN preferred to align with our Magnet-designated excellence.

The Clinical Staff Leader is a direct supervisory leadership role and a key member of the Nursing leadership team. The CSL leads a cohort of staff members and actively participates in overall management of the unit, development of clinical practice, and provision of patient care with accountabilities for implementation and outcomes for people leadership, quality, service, compliance, finance, throughput and scheduling.
The primary focus of the Clinical Staff Leader is to ensure the unit's optimal performance by engaging in effective problem solving for staff, patients and families and to develop/lead the assigned cohort. The Clinical Staff Leader provides feedback and coaching to staff members, recognizing them for their contributions while fostering a high performance culture.
