Job Summary:

Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards..SHIFT:
The person hired into this position will work three 12-hour shifts from 7:00p-7:00a per week for a total of 36 hours per week, to include some weekends. There will be two call shifts in a six week scheduling period.

Join the brand-new Acute Surgical Care Stepdown unit coming to 10N, a 31-bed stepdown unit with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5, offering a unique opportunity to help build a new team from the ground up. Nurses will provide a stepdown level of care to adult patients either awaiting surgery or recovering post-operatively. The unit features a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere.

Please note this is inpatient/bedside position.

EGS, trauma, ED, or surgical floor experience a plus

Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.

Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.

Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.

Ability to adapt to changes to patient care and area needs with minimal disruption and loss of productivity. Follows up to assure problems and issues are resolved.

Nursing Patient Education (Novice):
Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency in providing patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
