American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Medical/Surgical position requiring a TN or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience in a 32-bed post-surgical care unit.

• 13-week assignment on a Medical/Surgical unit providing post-operative care to general surgery patients
• 32-bed unit also receiving overflow medical and surgical patients from throughout the hospital
• Patient population includes diagnoses such as bowel obstruction, wound infection, gastrointestinal cancers, and morbid obesity
• Serves young adult through late adult patients (ages 18-60+) who are hemodynamically stable and not requiring mechanical ventilation
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
• Core staffing includes RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Nurse Interns, with the RN assuming full responsibility for assigned patients
• Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
• May be required to float to other units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, with advance notice provided before the scheduled shift

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test required
• Nursys verification and primary source license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must provide a US Social Security Number and US home address

• Strong teamwork and communication supported among staff and providers, including surgical residents covering most surgeons around the clock
• Clinical team interview required prior to being presented for this position
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from the facility
• Travelers should discuss assignment extensions with their manager approximately 45 days before the end date
